Bali 2017

9th July 2017
This holiday, we decided to go to Bali. Got on the Lion Air plane there and spent my time setting up my watch. After that, we headed to our rented car and drove out of the airport straight to Kuta to fill our empty stomachs. Then, we checked in our hotel and had pizza for dinner.

10th July 2017
The day starts as it always does in western countries (or not) with a trip to a bakery to buy a ridiculous amount of croissants for the looong journey to the Balangan beach on car. Left a short time after as there were nothing interesting. Off to the next beach which is the Suluban beach. Had a bunch more interesting stuff and also a really, really spiky surface. By the time the sun went down, I realize my feet were bleeding all over. It dried soon after, though. We headed back to Kuta and had ourselves a non vegan dinner (a variety of sausages, pork knuckles, etc.).

11th July 2017
Got up and spent even more time in Kuta. Then we went to the Potato Head Beach Club and spent about 6 hours eating burger for brunch and playing at the beach. Later on we had a little pre-dinner with more burger at Sisterfields. By the time the sun went down, we arrived at Naughty Nuri's and had their signature ribs.

12th July 2017
We checked out of the hotel first thing in the morning and said our final farewells before we went on the journey to stay at a hotel on the other end of Bali. It was a extremely long journey that the sun downed when we arrived.

13th July 2017
Today is the day when we will rendezvous at the airport with our grandparents. Later on we went to Mano Seaside Beach Club. It has by far the best wind and waves. It even got a mini pool! Spent the rest of the day shopping for my grandmother.

14th July 2017
We decided to go to the beach again for more 'fun'. Had roasted corn and satay at the market by the seaside. Went to a seafood restaurant with an amazing night view. Then we got home and went to bed.

15th July 2017
Finally, with no excuse why we have yet to go to Bali's most popular beach, the Kuta beach, and as it was our final day in Bali, we went there. The moment we arrived there, all I could think of was that it was poop, so we went to the new mall across instead. Had lunch at Johnny Rockets for more burger. It was a massive one, I tell you. Sadly, it was time to leave. We headed to the airport and went to a lounge with wifi, watching my favorite animes. Almost got left by the plane. And thank God, we safely arrived home.

SMPK 1 BPK Penabur English Writing Task

129 Sesame Street
Texas, America
Dear Eugene,

Do you know the importance of food? Food have lots of use and one of which is that food is the main source of nutrients for living things to survive.

Not only do food helps you survive, they also keep your body in a good shape.Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for living things. They are mostly found in rice, bread, noodles, etc. Foods which contain fats provides us with backup energy for our body. Too much fat will cause you to overweigh, though. Proteins found in milk and fish also helps to build new cells and strengthen our muscles.

The most important is breakfast. Breakfast that are high in carbohydrates are highly recommended as they will make your day, feeling all energized. The next meal after breakfast is lunch. I dislike lunch as they have the least benefits from all the meals of a day. Next up is dinner. Dinner is a meal we usually take during the evening with lots of vegetables to keep you healthy.

The preparation and cooking of food is also important as they help to increase the taste of food and stabilizes the amount of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. For example, oil is used to fry and cook delicious foods but they contain lots of fats. They are most suitable for frying food with low fat to maximize their taste and keep a healthy diet.

Many countries have their own cultural food. They are usually served in special events and festivals as it is a tradition, also because they are proud of their own culture.

See? Foods have lots of importance and uses. Hope you will put more thought on food considering their importance after reading this!

Your friend,
Darren

International Workers' Day

What is International Worker's Day?
International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day in some countries, and often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement which occurs every year on May Day (1 May), an ancient European spring festival.
The date was chosen by a pan-national organization of socialist and communist political parties to commemorate the Haymarket affair, which occurred in Chicago on 4 May 1886. The 1904 Sixth Conference of the Second International, called on "all Social Democratic Party organisations and trade unions of all countries to demonstrate energetically on the First of May for the legal establishment of the 8-hour day, for the class demands of the proletariat, and for universal peace."
The first of May is a national public holiday in many countries worldwide, in most cases as "Labour Day", "International Workers' Day" or some similar name - although some countries celebrate a Labour Day on other dates significant to them, such as the United States, which celebrates Labour Day on the first Monday of September.

History of International Worker's Day

Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labour movements grew, a variety of days were chosen by trade unionists as a day to celebrate labour. In the United States and Canada, a September holiday, called Labor or Labour Day, was first proposed in the 1880s. In 1882, Matthew Maguire, a machinist, first proposed a Labor Day holiday on the first Monday of September while serving as secretary of the Central Labor Union (CLU) of New York. Others argue that it was first proposed by Peter J. McGuire of the American Federation of Labor in May 1882, after witnessing the annual labour festival held in Toronto, Canada. In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public holiday. By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty U.S. states officially celebrated Labor Day. Thus by 1887 in North America, Labor Day was an established, official holiday but in September, not on 1 May.

Noragami Aragoto Season 3 Set for Winter Release [Rumor]

"Noragami Aragoto," the anime treatment of the popular Japanese manga series "Noragami," is one of the sleeper hits in the community since its release. So far, only two seasons of the series was produced and fans are demanding for a third season.

It has been more than one year since the "Noragami Aragoto" season 2 was released, and since then no word has been heard from the show's producers whether a third season is in the works. Nevertheless, fans are still hoping that "Noragami Aragoto" Season 3 will be released, and be released soon.

Quite a handful of rumors have circulated over the anime community these past few months regarding the existence of "Noragami Aragoto" Season 3. While these rumors spark excitement to dedicated fans, it is important to take these rumors with a grain of salt as the show's producers have kept mum about it. Hence, the integrity of these rumors are murky to say the least.
One particular rumor claims that "Noragami Aragoto" Season 3 will be released this winter. The "Aragoto" manga is still released on a weekly basis, something that kept rumors about the anime version alive throughout these years.
According to OppTrends, fans believe that the producer of the anime series have decided to go on hiatus in order for the manga series to grow and therefore provide enough material to work on. "Noragami Aragoto" Season 3 is expected to be impressive than its predecessors, given the source material the series' producer can use. It has been a couple of years since the last "Noragami Aragato" anime episode was released, yet the show's fan base continue to grow. Surely, the show's producers will see this potential moneymaker and will be persuaded to continue the series.

Easter

What is Easter?

Easter, which celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, is Christianity’s most important holiday. It has been called a moveable feast because it doesn’t fall on a set date every year, as most holidays do. Instead, Christian churches in the West celebrate Easter on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox on March 21. Therefore, Easter is observed anywhere between March 22 and April 25 every year. Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar to calculate when Easter will occur and typically celebrate the holiday a week or two after the Western churches, which follow the Gregorian calendar.

The origin of the word 'Easter'

The modern English term Eastercognate with modern Dutch ooster and German Ostern, developed from an Old English word that usually appears in the form Ēastrun-on, or-an; but also as Ēastru-o; and Ēastre or Ēostre. The most widely accepted theory of the origin of the term is that it is derived from the name of an Old English goddess mentioned by the 7th to 8th-century English monk Bede, who wrote that Ēosturmōnaþ (Old English 'Month of Ēostre', translated in Bede's time as "Paschal month") was an English month, corresponding to April, which he says "was once called after a goddess of theirs named Ēostre, in whose honour feasts were celebrated in that month".

Easter Egg

Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are decorated eggs that are usually used as gifts on the occasion of Easter or spring time celebration. As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Eastertide (Easter season). The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs wrapped in colourful foil, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate. Although eggs, in general, were a traditional symbol of fertility and rebirth, in Christianity, for the celebration of Eastertide, Easter eggs symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus, from which Jesus resurrected. In addition, one ancient tradition was the staining of Easter eggs with the colour red "in memory of the blood of Christ, shed as at that time of his crucifixion."This custom of the Easter egg can be traced to early Christians of Mesopotamia, and from there it spread into Russia and Siberia through the Orthodox Churches, and later into Europe through the Catholic and Protestant Churches. This Christian use of eggs may have been influenced by practices in "pre-dynastic period in Egypt, as well as amid the early cultures of Mesopotamia and Crete".

Hari Raya Nyepi

Melasti Serangkaian Upacara Nyepi

Sword Art Online Season 3: Project Alicization #Confirmed

That's right! If this article weren't clear enough, it looks like a third season of Sword Art Online has finally been announced. During the test screenings of the anime's new movie, fans were treated to a special clip after the feature aired which teased that Sword Art Online was returning.

Over on Twitter, fans who were lucky enough to attend test screening shared their stories with eager fans. User @tuki0811 wrote, "I just saw the world's first test screening of SAO lol. It was so good I got goosebumps lol. Oh, by the way, season 3 was announced~"

Another user who runs a popular anime blog known as Yaraon also commented on the new season of Sword Art Online. "'sao will return' is written in the end credits of Ordinal Scale. The third season of the anime is comiiiiing!"

Of course, there's no official word from A-1 Pictures about the season. However, it seems likely that official confirmation will be given closer to the Japanese release of Sword Art Online Movie -Ordinal Scale- in February.
